The new Savoy Lounge will be a space that the entire school will enjoy!
The Student Council (STUCO) has made building a new student lounge in the Savoy building a student-led priority for 22-23. STUCO representatives took their ideas for this new space to the LAS Leadership Team, and their ideas were approved!
This will be the first full community social space in the Savoy building, and it will help us transform on-campus life for our students. While this space was not in our 22-23 Operational Budget, the Leadership Team agreed to fund the essentials needed for a functional space. The students want to do more to enhance the lounge, though, and we need your help to fast track the completion of the Savoy Lounge and make it a space that the students will be proud to call their own!
We are thrilled to announce that the Student Council has already won a 5000 CHF grant from the LAS Impact Fund, but there's still work to be done to help them achieve their goals. STUCO is looking for a total of 17,500 CHF to put the finishing touches on this space. This includes:
- 2,000 CHF: Decorations and finishing touches
- 5,000 CHF: Pool table + other games
- 7,500 CHF: Furniture and seating
- 3,000 CHF: 80 inch TV and fittings

The Student Council has already been successful in applying for the maximum grant available through our Impact Fund! That's 5,000 CHF already raised for the Savoy Lounge!
The Impact Fund is where we raise most of our funds from the LAS Global Family, and it is disbursed throughout the school community through a grant system, based on delivering impact to our students and school.
